19.12.07 LAST UPDATE
This is probably my last update of this site. I started all about nearly 10 years ago and now it´s time for something new. I just implemented a redirect to the new COGNITIVE*DEFECT site but this old site is still available. Withing the next weeks/months the new site will be finished. I think you should know when it´s time to end something. We still have a couple of backstocks left, please don´t hesitate to get some of the last copies at the Vinylkingz Mailorder. Shops/distros can ask for wholesale prices by writing an email to subversiv-rec@offbeaters.com. 27.11.07 XNDL IS WORKING ON TWO NEW RELEASES FOR 2008 ON COGNITIVE*DEFECT REC.
On the 4th of FEB 2008 XNDL will drop his first new album for 2008 called "bewusstlos". This album contains once again a mixture of Breaks, Downbeat, Illbient and Glitch and more electronical sounds. The 2nd release is called "roots" and contains strictly reggae/ragga influenced sounds from Dub to Dancehall. Definitely another musical site as we usually expect from him. You can listen to the first track on his Virb-Profile. It´s called "ghetto girl" and features Richie Spice.

03.10.07 SUBVERSIV*REC. RETIRES EARLY ON DECEMBER 2007
At the end of this year SUBVERSIV*REC. will close down it´s business. The reason for this decission is based on different factors. I just want to mention the most important ones. First of all most of our shops and even distributors went bankrupt the last 2 years and we have to rebuild our distribution-situation. We don´t have the time and energy to do that because Matt works fulltime besides the label & Vinylkingz and even me started a full-time-job a few months ago. The 2nd and more personal point was my declining interest in that kind of music and the wish to concentrate more on my own music in my spare time. Another point was the fact that i could not see any community or support/interest on the part of the listeners and even the artists anymore. A label should do more than releasing some records… i don´t want to blame some people but it´s not acceptable that you pay a lot of money and spend a lot of time for a release and some artists do not even mention that release in their discography or even one single sentence …

However… at the moment i´m working on the idea of a new label in 2008, more familiar and consisting of only a handful and mostly exclusive artists who want to be a part of the building progress and not only beeing released. The new label is called COGNITIVE*DEFECT and it is concentrated on more electronical sounds and even on the organisation of live-appearances/events. It will be smaller and not as semi-professional as SUBVERSIV*REC.

We just want to thank all of you guys for supporting us the last 5 years and wish you the best. We´re going to sell our backstocks the next months so watch out for special offers and get one of the last SUBVERSIV*REC. releases.

We hope to have the chance to continue our work with affiliated artists and friends in the future.

13.06.07 OFFBEATS 3.1 DELAYS & MORE
Well, it´s pretty quiet here these days. That´s because of the fact that i have tons of other things to do at the moment and unfortunately hardware-trouble with my computer again. That means the last few weeks i was not able to work properly on a lot of things like the Offbeats 3.1. Now it´s summer, i have to pass my last exams and my thesis and months like Juli/August quite difficult to release and so i think we should put that release out after the summer-break early September. Sorry guys, but we think it´s better to make a 100% release instead of a 75% because pressure of time. In case we can put it out before the summer break we let you know. The last steps are done for the new OFFBEATS4 compilation. This time on vinyl again and the projected release-date is late may. We have a amazing and very interesting lineup again and present you our definition of progessive HipHop and electronical instrumentalism. The line-up at the moment is Curse Ov Dialect, Thesis, Otem Relik, Demune, Techno Sunrise, Pastry Case, Edison & Xndl. All tracks are brandnew except the Demune track that is also featured on his mad limited tour-cd.

Within the next 2-3 weeks the brandnew SUBVERSIV*REC. shirts will be available. Two new designs 1) OFFBEATS 3 by our man Gordon, b) SUBVERSIV*REC. logo 2006. We had some quality problems with a few "Brokenboy skull"-shirts in the past and even replaced a few shirts. We know about 4 shirts with print trouble after washing that shirt. We got the info that something went wrong with the temperature that is necessary for drying the tints.It was only the "broken skull" shirt and only a few shirts of that edition.This time the quality will be checked manually. The shirts are available in the three shirt-colors black/dark navy (blue) and olive/khaki/whatever that shitty color is called. I would suggest to pre-order and write an email to info@offbeaters.com. 16.01.06 GUNPORN "PRETTY PRETTY PLEASE +" JAPANESE-EDITION PROJECTED
After a few weeks of negotioations the deal should be alright now and still this spring a Japanese Re-release of the first Gunporn album "pretty, pretty, please" will be dropped on the Ultravybe Label. This release features 30min of Bonus tracks including the 3 bonus instrumentals from the Gunporn instrumentals CDr and two brandnew remixes by Xndl.The album has a new artwork and is only available for the Japanese market. Of course a few copies will be available at the Offbeat Mailorder for our customers... Shadowanimals "winter collection", Soso "tenth street", Offbeats 3.0 & 3.1, Astronautalis album. After these records the long waiting line is finally ending and it´s time for new stuff. We just were talking with K-The-??? & Brzowski about a project for this year and of course the new Gunporn album will be dropped also this year. I think we found our musical direction now and continue presenting new sounds and fresh artists.

03.01.06 RUSHYA ALBUM COMPLETED
The recordings for the first Rushya (Ancient Mith & Xndl) album are finished.The album will be released this spring on Ponowai Flora recordings in co-operation with Subversiv*Rec on CD.The tracks are mixed by Demune and the artwork will be done by Chojin/Moonstruck as far as i know at the moment...

31.12.05 XNDL´S ANNUAL RETROSPECTION 2005
2005 definitely sucked... We had a lot of problems with business suckers, (still) a lot of delays, a lot of trouble nobody wants and nobody has never known about, last but not least a lot of bad luck and i just want to say a big "fuck you" to 2005. I hope 2006 will be better... if not - fuck 2006 too... there´s a lack of everything but not a lack of time and backbone. I also hope the Shadowanimals LP & SOSO LP will be out on mid January.The stuff is still at the manufacturing plant and nothing happened the last weeks. The OFFBEATS 3 CD-version will be out on Feb before the vinyl-selection drops. I also want to thank all the people who still support SUBVERSIV*REC. We have a lot of awsome releases for 2006 like the new Gunporn album, Astronautalis album, a project with Brzowski & K-The-??? and a lot more stuff.. You are the reason why indipendent labels like us still exist...

16.12.05 SOSO & SHADOWANIMALS LP OUT ON JANUARY
Well what else can i say than "bad luck again". The masters of the two new releases were sent early enough but the manufacturer never got the them. That´s the official statement we got from them and that´s all we can say here. That´s the typical problem of small labels, their masters seems to get lost easier than the masters of a major label... exspecially during the peak hours before Christmas-holidays... Unfortunately the OFFBEATS 3 compilation will be delayed because of this too. It´s not possible for us to releases 4 records within 4 weeks.I hope you understand what´s going on... i´m sure you do.

We made a deal with Daddy Kev who released in the past on SUBVERSIV*REC for digital distribution. ALPHAPUP presents a exellent selction of mostly westcoast underground HipHop and artists like Busdriver, 2Mex, Awol One a.o. The first 3 SUBVERSIV*REC releases for downloading are OFFBEATS 2.0, GUNPORN "Pretty,Pretty,Please" and XNDL "16bit". More releases and even releases that are already sold out will follow for next year...

14.11.05 SOSO LP & SHADOWANIMALS COMPILATION ARE READY
We finished the work for the new SOSO & SHADOWANIMALS lps and these two records should be out next month, hopefully before Christmas. That depends on the manufacturer... The OFFBEATS 3.0 & 3.1 is finished too and we only have to wait for the final mastering and artwork by Chojin. This releases should be out JAN/FEB 06 and featuress 15 tracks (CD) and ca 7-8 tracks (vinyl).

The compilation should be out on January 06, maybe earlier... Offbeats 3.0 is the CD-version presenting about 70min of various musical-styles like HipHop, Elektronika, Instrumental, Alternative. The 3.1 vinyl version is a selection with ca 40min playtime. This time the variety of sounds/styles is bigger than ever before...
